FAQ

Where is the nearest airport?

The nearest airports are Malaga (1.5h) and Jerez de la Frontera (1.5h). Seville is 2 hours away and Gibraltar is only 45 minutes away.

Do I need a rental car to come to you?

We definitely recommend a rental car, preferably an all-terrain one, as the road to us is not very good, plus you have to cross a small river the last bit. There is also a small train station in Estación de Jimena, from there you can go to Ronda, but with a car you are independent and can explore the beautiful area around us very well.

Is it possible to have lunch and dinner with you?

Breakfast is included in the room rate. You can also rent the Kasacaya without breakfast, it has its own kitchen. Three to four times a week (usually Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) Karl cooks a delicious 3-course menu. In our kitchenette, which is open to all guests, you can enjoy tapas, cakes and drinks during the day. Just make a mark on the list and pay conveniently at the end. There is also coffee and the possibility to warm up something.

When is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 2 pm to 4 pm, check-out at 11 am. We kindly ask you to inform us of your arrival time in advance. You are welcome to check in later by arrangement, but earlier is unfortunately not possible.

Where are the nearest supermarket and shops?

In Jimena de la Frontera (5 minutes by car) there are several small supermarkets and a wonderful little organic food shop. In the village there is also a cash machine and several small bars and restaurants. If you drive to the coast (about 30 min) there are more shopping possibilities.

Are there markets nearby?

Yes, every Friday there is a weekly market in Jimena, and in Estación there is a market on Wednesdays where you can buy regional products. On Sundays there is a market in Sotogrande, where you can buy mostly clothes and high-quality souvenirs. In our small shop you can also find souvenirs, homemade products from Karl, creams from Rouse and much more...

Can I borrow bicycles from you?

We have mountain bikes for hire at the hotel, if you would like to have e-bikes, we will be happy to organise them for you.

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately, we can't accommodate dogs with us, but if you're in need of a cuddle, you're welcome to cuddle our two dogs Pepperoni and Krishna.

Do the rooms have a kitchen?

Our flat Kasacaya has a fully equipped kitchen. If you have booked another room, you can use the general kitchenette. There you will find delicious tapas, coffee & cake and snacks. Only the Kasacaya is suitable for self-catering; in the other rooms you enjoy the services of a hotel.

Can I use the pool all year round?

Yes, but unheated.

Is the hotel suitable for children?

Our hotel is adult-friendly, teenagers from the age of 16 are very welcome to spend their holidays with us.

Do you also take beginners on your rides?

The terrain with us is very demanding and mountainous, so you should have riding experience. Unfortunately, we cannot take beginners on our rides. You can book the rides on site.

How many people can stay at the hotel?

How do I find you?

Here are the directions

Please enter the following coordinates into your navigation system:
Latitude: 36.4314354 Longitude: -5.4463332

For directions using Google Maps search for 'Rancho Los Lobos'.
Please don't be surprised, the journey is a bit adventurous.

In fine weatherIf you are coming from the coast, turn left on the A-405 at km 24 (Christmas) on the gravel road, you will cross a small riverbed and at the end of the road turn right along the railway tracks. Just after the level crossing, the second gate on the left is the main entrance to our hotel.

In heavy rain you must continue to the village of Jimena de la Frontera and at the top of the village, at the Cuenca restaurant, turn left into Calle Pasada de Alcalá. Follow the road and at the end cross an iron bridge into the nature park. Leave the tarmac road at the goat herder on the corner and continue straight ahead. Follow the gravel road until it bends sharply to the right, take this bend and on the right-hand side, shortly after a turn to the right (don't go in there) you will see our hotel.
